Current situation:
Position at March 2011
The development was refused permission on environmental grounds by the Provincial Department of Environmental and Development Planning (DEA&DP) on 7th January 2011.
The developer is appealing this decision.
The developer also applied to the City of Cape Town for Planning Permission, but this cannot be granted without the applicant first receiving environmental approval.
The development is therefore at a stand still until the Minister decides on the appeal.
