The developer has applied for permission on environmental grounds from the Provincial Department of Environmental and Development Planning (DEA&DP).
GAG opposed the development.
The developer also applied to the City of Cape Town for Planning Permission, but this cannot be granted without the applicant first receiving environmental approval.
The development thus awaits the decision from DEA&DP.
The development cannot in any event go ahead without the prior approval of the proposed development on the adjacent Erf 1, as its only means of access would be taken from Erf 1 once this is developed. See Erf 1 for an update on the situation there.
